The project expands a 42.6-km long rail line connecting the two northern towns of Krizevci and Koprivnica with the Hungarian border and is part of a wider plan to modernise the rail-shipping cargo connection between from the so-called Mediterranean corridor to central Europe via the Adriatic port of Rijeka.
