Construction of the Pelješac bridge as the example of Chinese and Croatian cooperation
The Pelješac bridge will connect the peninsula of the same name with the rest of mainland Croatia over the Adriatic, providing an alternative route to crossing the Neum Corridor – a strip of the Adriatic coastline situated in Bosnia and Herzegovina between these two parts of Croatia.
The Central and Eastern Europe – China Summit 2018 in Sofia
The 7th Central and Eastern Europe – China summit was held on 6-7 July in Sofia. The theme of the meeting was Deep, open cooperation for inclusive prosperity. During the summit Mr. Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of China assured that the Chinese market is open to foreign products and investors.
Promoting cooperation between seaports within the Belt and Road Initiative
During the World Maritime Day Parallel Event 2018 Mr. LIU Xiaoming, Vice-Minister of Transport of China delivered a presentation on promoting pragmatic cooperation in seaports along the Belt and Road Initiative. Mr. LIU Xiaoming pointed out the achievements made in Chinese domestic port development. He emphasized that the total cargo throughput of Chinese ports and the volume of containers handled at Chinese ports is the first in the world and that 7 Chinese ports are on list of the world’s top 10 seaports.
About the ‘16+1’ format during the World Maritime Day Parallel Event 2018 in Szczecin
On the margins of the World Maritime Day Parallel Event 2018 in Szczecin was held a meeting on maritime issues within the ’16+1′ format. The theme of the discussion was “Seaports on the routes of the Belt and Road Initiative”.
Joint Polish and Estonian plans of activities within „16+1” initiative
On May 25th, 2018 Mr. Marek Gróbarczyk, Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of Poland paid a visit to Tallin and held a bilateral meeting with Ms. Kadri Simson, Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure of Estonia on the board of the „Dar Młodzieży” sailing ship, which moored to the Port of Tallin on the occasion of the ongoing „Independence Sail”
