On 29th of April 2019 Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of Poland Ms. Anna Moskwa chaired the meeting. The Chinese delegation was headed by the Commissioner in the rank of minister, Mr. Yue Zhongming. The Yellow River Conservation Commission is an institution subordinate to the Ministry of Water Resources in China, whose task is to administer the river’s water resources.
The tackled issue was the cooperation within the competence of the Ministry
of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation and the State Water Farm “Polish
Waters (Wody Polskie)”.
The parties expressed their
willingness to continue cooperation in the field of water management, under
which a memorandum was drawn up in 2017. The Chinese side
asked for information on the management of the water environment and proposed
establishing collaboration regarding designing water facilities.
The Chinese side could get acquainted
with Polish Retention Development Program, which aims at increasing the
retention of freshwater during a year and the “Stop Drough” programme,
which goal is to counteract the effects of drought. Representatives
of the Ministry also presented projects which are to contribute to the
restoration of the navigability of the Oder and Vistula rivers.
