Xi Jinping meets with Serbian PM Ana Brnabic

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, spoke today in Shanghai with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the bilateral, economic and political relations of the two countries, as well as on cooperation within the “Belt and Road” mechanism.

Brnabic expressed gratitude to the President of China for Beijing’s principled support for Serbia’s territorial integrity.

According to her, this meeting is another confirmation of the excellent political relations between the two countries, which share a vision of a world that is open and free for the movement of people, goods, services and capital, a world without barriers, protectionism and trade wars.

She said in the press release that the talks also focused on the increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting Serbia, as well as on joint police patrols, that is, on the overall very close cooperation between the two countries.

We discussed that Serbia supports the policy of one China, and that China will continue to support our country in the international arena regarding Kosovo and Metohija, Brnabic emphasized.

According to her, the President of China has confirmed that he will accept the invitation of President Aleksandar Vucic and will visit Serbia next year.

She said that there were also infrastructure projects completed by the Serbian and Chinese sides, but also those underway or planned, as well as the increasing number of Chinese investments in Serbia.

One of the topics also concerned the business of Smederevo Ironworks, since Xi Jinping, along with the Serbian leadership, brought Hbis to Serbia, Brnabic said, and reminded that one of the important investments in our country is the Chinese tire factory. Zrenjanin’s “Linglong”.
