The official opening was made by Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia and Zorana Mihajlović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure. The Chinese side was represented by Mr. Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transport.
One Belt – One Road
New members of the agreement of terminal operators and logistics centres in Central and Eastern Europe
Members of the agreement have met in in the headquarter of the Port of Gdynia. As the result, six new members have jointed the initiative – logistics operator PKP Cargo Connect Ltd., Baltic Container Terminal Ltd., Advanced World Transport a.s. (PKP CARGO group) and autorities of Polish ports Elbląg, Kołobrzeg and Police.
EU-China Summit: deepening the strategic global partnership for transport
At the third meeting of the EU-China Connectivity Platform the two parties reaffirmed their commitment to transport connectivity on the basis of respective policy priorities, sustainability, market rules and international coordination.
The Central and Eastern Europe – China Summit 2018 in Sofia
The 7th Central and Eastern Europe – China summit was held on 6-7 July in Sofia. The theme of the meeting was Deep, open cooperation for inclusive prosperity. During the summit Mr. Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of China assured that the Chinese market is open to foreign products and investors.
Promoting cooperation between seaports within the Belt and Road Initiative
During the World Maritime Day Parallel Event 2018 Mr. LIU Xiaoming, Vice-Minister of Transport of China delivered a presentation on promoting pragmatic cooperation in seaports along the Belt and Road Initiative. Mr. LIU Xiaoming pointed out the achievements made in Chinese domestic port development. He emphasized that the total cargo throughput of Chinese ports and the volume of containers handled at Chinese ports is the first in the world and that 7 Chinese ports are on list of the world’s top 10 seaports.
