Polish sailing ship “Dar Młodzieży” will visit China

Polish sailing ship SV “Dar Młodzieży” will cruise around the world to celebrate the 100-anniversary of the restoration of Poland’s sovereignty. The cruise will take place between May 2018 and March 2019. The sailing ship will moor in many ports around the world. In October “Dar Młodzieży” will visit Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Minister for Transport of the People’s Republic of China Li Xiaopeng declared that the calling of “Dar Młodzieży” at Shanghai Port is a salute to the traditional friendship between China and Poland. Both sides will cooperate together in organizing accompanying events during the stay of Polish sailing ship at Shanghai Port, with a view to promote bilateral exchanges in navigation culture and setting an example for the rest of the world on the joint building of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. These events in ports will be available not only for government and authorities, but also for local citizens as well as Poles living in China.

“Cruise of the Independence” is one of many actions taken in cooperation between the Polish Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation and the Chinese Ministry for Transport. In Poland already exists the Coordinating Secretariat for Maritime Issues, which promotes the maritime transport, technologies and the development of coastal regions.
